I counted myself amongst the cult of Tool fans who saw Ænima as an important album one that fulfilled the lofty expectations set forth on Opiate and Undertow. At least that’s what I thought when I read his one-paragraph review of Ænima for Rolling Stone‘s 1996 year-end issue.
